By adding this ingredient we've enhanced the already potent effects of Osage Orange Seed Oil, and created the most powerful formulation of our oil to date.

OHC Skincare Osage Orange Seed Oil Our Philosophy

OUR PHILOSOPHY

SKINCARE FROM SCIENCE

Since being founded by a PhD chemist in 2013, our company has been rooted in science. It continues to be lead by scientists today, and we aim to utilize our knowledge and expertise to create the most effective products for you.

In the true spirit of science, our goal is to always be transparent with the ingredients that we put into our products, and why we've chosen to use them. It's important to us that everything that is in our products is there with a purpose, not just as filler.

To make sure that we provide the best possible products, made with the best possible ingredients, we utilize research and refinement to get the results that you'll love to see.

Interact with the images below to learn more about what goes in to the process of making our products.

RESEARCH

Each one of our products begins with rigorous research. We reference reputable literature to ensure the validity of the ingredients we choose to use.

If we don't find evidence that an ingredient will truly impact the health of the skin, or improve the experience of the product, then it doesn't make it into the formulation.

RESULTS

After we have pinpointed a formulation that we are happy with, we try it out in our own routines- we wouldn't ask you to use anything that we wouldn't use ourselves!

If we don't absolutely love the results of what we have made, then it never makes its way to you.

REFINEMENT

Once we have narrowed down exactly what we want to put into a product, we begin refining the ratios of the ingredients used in our formulations.

The main goal of this step is to hone in on the stability and feel of the product, while maintaining the targeted concentrations of the active ingredients.

OHC Skincare Osage Orange Seed Oil Our Process

OUR PROCESS

MADE IN IOWA, FOR YOU

Screenshot 2023-12-14 at 9.56.22 AM.jpg

After many trials and errors, we have perfected a unique process to efficiently separate the Osage Orange Seeds from the fruit — the first of many important steps in isolating our oil.

Through perseverance and innovation, we have refined it to a relatively simple process so that our products can be affordable and accessible to you.

OUR
METHODS

Screenshot 2023-10-09 at 2.44.51 PM.png

From harvesting the fruit, to isolating the seeds, to cold-pressing the oil, to bottling it and sending it home to you, we quite literally have our hands in the process at every step of the way.

This lets us ensure that the product you receive is up to our standards, and of the highest quality possible.

OUR
HANDS

Our manufacturing building is located in the small town of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, and we utilize Osage Oranges that have been harvested from our local communities throughout southeastern Iowa. It’s not just the people and communities of Iowa that make our location so special, but the land itself is a pretty big deal. Iowa soil has been enriched with nutrients for ages, beginning thousands of years ago with glacial deposits and continuing through recent centuries of prairie lands and agricultural cultivation.

Not only are the Osage Oranges that we use grown in nutrient-rich Iowa soil, but they are also wild-harvested. This means that there is no genetic modification, no pesticide, fungicide, or insecticide use, and no disruption to the local ecosystem or topsoil cover when cultivating and harvesting our crop.

We do not cut down any trees when harvesting the fruits that we utilize, and instead opt to remove the fruit from the trees or pick up Osage Oranges that have already dropped to the ground. Because Osage Orange trees produce fruit every year, preserving the wild-grown trees ensures that we have a stable supply of fruit each harvest season, while maintaining a small carbon footprint.

We handle all of the processing — from start to finish — of our oil right here in Iowa, utilizing techniques that no one else in the world uses. We employ people from our own communities, and have created a local economic demand for a fruit that previously held no value. When you buy our products, they won’t just make your skin feel great– you’ll feel great too, knowing that you’re supporting the growth of a small town community.
